Our New Resident Tattoo Artist Tim Lees!
Trip Ink Tattoo Company is very excited to introduce to our tattoo shop, our new resident tattoo artist Tim Lees! We’ve known Tim for sometime, and he’s also been most fortunate in the past to be on Ink Master Season 5 Rivals. We were able to have a chat with Tim about who he is, where he comes from and also some more interesting stuff about him, so read below and find out more about this talented artist!

“I was born in Anaheim, California and I moved south to San Diego, California when I was only nine years old. And I pretty much grew up in San Diego after moving there as a kid.
I started drawing at about five years old, drawing cartoon characters such as G.I. Joes and Transformers. My mom loved riding motorcycles, and when I was fourteen her boyfriend gave me my first tattoo machine, and from there I started to tattoo, and my mom was the first person that I tattooed. I was hooked ever since tattooing, but I didn’t take it really seriously as a career til I was in my 20s.
When I was coming into my own as a tattoo artist, I was into new school and bio mechanical. I also really loved realism (and I still do), and I truly idolize tattoo artists such as Bob Tyrell when it comes to that brilliant and most intricate style of tattooing.
Why I became a tattoo artist… well, it’s because I truly love doing art and creating something from it. I fell in love with the commitment of tattoos at a young age. As far as where I see myself in the future I just want to keep trying to get better by working on my weak points by trying to make myself stronger overall. Not just as an artist, but also as a human being.”
